Here is a piece that i have made last week, the centre of this necklace measures about 4", i have fused 24ct gold leaf onto the little flowers using the ancient technique of keum boo. This is part of my new bridal range.

Im back! well after a nightmare of a year last year, I have decided to more of an effert into my jewellery, im hoping this year to try and get into trade fairs and maybe do some wedding fairs. At the end of last i lost my beloved mum, who i miss so much, she was only 59, but after a few years of ill health she is now in no pain. So this is why im going to give my all to promoting my jewellery and doing more marketing as my mum love my pieces, so im hoping that 2012 will be a good year.

Back again, i have just been working away today on a few pieces, the necklace, bracelet and earrings are for a commission, so they are going to their new home soon, The bracelet which is all made using sterling silver with the flower in the centre is another design to add to my little flower collection, as i said before im trying to work on some jewellery that will be a bridal collection. It's been great the past two weeks, ive been off on holiday from my normal full time job, and i have been working away at my workshop which has been great. Tonight im heading out for a while to enjoy a few vino's and to watch the parade/fancy dress in musselburgh. Hope you all have a great weekend,x

Here is a piece i made at the workshop today, this piece measures just over 3". Im thinking i might start a collection for brides, but just need to push myself to see who wants to stock them, im not a fan of knocking on doors so to speck. I have been on holiday all this week and it's great as i have been going into my workshop on a few days, rather than a few hours at night here and there. Tomorrow is my birthday so thinking i will go out for lunch with the family, that should be nice, Now i think i might sit and relax with a lovely chilled glass of rose wine.xx

Here is a ring that i made at the weekend,the sterling silver sheet has been put through the rolling mill to add texture, I have added some 24k gold leaf onto the small flower, and in the centre of the ring i have set a small rough peridot. the finished piece has been oxidised. will be adding a few more pieces and hopefully get some listed onto my etsy site www.silvermeadows.etsy.com

Here is some more new pieces that i have made over weekend, There is more of my little collection of flowers, i love making these in all shapes ans different metals. The earring measure just over an 1" long all in sterling silver. The pendant is also all made using sterling silver this measures over 1", the cab is a black tourmaline quartz, The detail in the stone is just gorgeous, i have cut little flower shapes in the back so you can see more detail. On another note at my workshop this weekend we have been doing ready steady jewel, this is where we have some local jewellers and graduates that have just finished uni, they design a piece, we give them the materials all supplied by a local company, they then have 9 hours to make there piece, then it all gets hallmarked, then on the 30Th August we have a auction, all the money that is raised goes to charities, Chas is one of them this year plus 3 more, I'm really looking forward to seeing all the finshed work. I have also set a face book page with all my work so if you want to follow me just search for silvermeadows, and suggest more people to like me (cheers). I will hopefully add some of my new pieces to etsy this week, it needs a revamp i think. I'm off on holiday next week for 2 weeks, but no holidays for me this year, but I'm in need of some sun, the weather here is rain rain floods, Scottish weather eh. will blog again this week hopefully,x

Here is a few pieces that i have been working on, and i just finished them and finally got around to take a quick picture. I had a exhibition a few weeks ago and i did quite well so im pleased with how that went. Im hoping to list a few pieces tomorrow on my etsy site. Tomorrow is also the start of the school kids summer holidays 7 weeks of sheer bless (hell) Im not lucky enough this year to be going anywhere special so it will be day trips here and there. I have 2 weeks off at the end of the month and im also turning 36 in the next 3 weeks and my son will be 14 so hopefully we can do something special for that. Hope everyone is being busy with craft fairs and festival and making some money, i now wish you all and good night my bed is calling me.x

Here is a new pendant that i have made using sterling silver sheet and 24k gold leaf. I have made a few pieces but still need to get around to take some pictures. It is so nice to see all the summer colours again, being used in every ones creations. Family life has been busy, my son is being really sporty at the moment, he is play football, long distance running, which he came second out of his year group, badminton, so not sure what else he will be doing next, my daughter has taken up playing the drums at school, just waiting on her wanting a drum kit, she also auditioned for glee which is in Edinburgh playhouse, so just waiting to see if she gets in, if not it is all about the experience, she is only 11 so she has plenty time. Hope everyone is enjoying some of the lovely sunshine and lighter nights.x

I know it's been ages since my last post, I just never seem to have any spare time at the moment. I have been so busy at work, my working partner feel at christmas and broke her leg in two places so it's just been me at work. I have been working away at my workshop which i just love, it's so much easier when you have the correct tools to hand. I have made this broach, using copper sheet which i have cut into little leaf shapes, i then textured using a rolling mill. I have made a few more pieces which are on my flickr site, please feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.

I have taken a couple of pictures of some bangles that i have made, the first is just been hammered then the second is one that have etched. They are both in sterling silver. I will hopefully add these to my etsy site this week, but wanting to take more pictures. Im still waiting on my camera getting fixed, the guy at the shop has had it for 3 weeks and is still to look at it, it's driving me crazy as i have loads of pictures to take. I will also be listing some more of my torch fired enameled butterflies to my etsy, the last set sold today, so i will be making more tomorrow. hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Torch fired enameled butterflies

These have been featured in this months issue of Beads and beyond magazine. Thanks to the lovely Rebecca Anderson, who made a stunning necklace along with earrings and a ring, using my butterflies. These sets are avalible on my etsy site at www.silvermeadows.etsy.com I have already sold all the other sets that where listed the other day so i had to make a few more sets. Still not the best of pictures, due to the fact that my camera is still to be fixed, the man at the shop has had it for 3 weeks and still not looked at it yet. I have started my new silversmithing course, and have already spent £100 on a few pieces of silver and i mean a few, seeing as the price is just really expensive, but i have another list that i want so sweet talking my hubby tonight so i can order £200 worth, i better be nice to him. Well hope to add more photos to my flickr this week of some more pieces that i have made, as i have a craft fair this saturday, not hoping for much but you never know. Nite all have a great week.x

I know it's been ages since i last blogged, i must try harder. Well i have now been working in my new workshop, which i love, it's so much better when you have all the tools that you need, it makes life so much easier also. I have added a few pics of some of my new pieces, I have still to finsh of the pendants, but i only take some bits and bobs up with me, as if it was to take all my beads, chain etc there would be no room left for anyone elses stuff. I have made a few more pieces today but i will add them tomorrow. I hope everyone had a great xmas and new year, and i hope 2011 is a good one for all. The lovely Rebecca Anderson has one of her lovely pieces in this months issue of beads and beyond magazine, and she has used my torch fired enameled butterflies, i have yet to see the finshed piece, i need to go buy a copy. I have some of my butterflies on my etsy site just now, and they where also featured in a lovely treasury the other day, so a big thanks to Lucy for including them. Im now away to have a little refreshment and sit and watch some tv.

It has been ages since my last blog, To tell the truth i have'nt been making many pieces, but hopefully i will be making loads more, here is a few bits that i have just finshed. The ring that i have made was inspired by tomi from metalriot, i just love here pieces, the bracelet was oxidised but i then decided to polish it so it's all shinny now. My news for 2011 is that i have enrolled myself on to a 10 week silversmithing course on a tuesday night which i can't wait to get started, and in the same place as my course i will be hiring my own workbench, which i have full use of all the tools which i can't wait to get my hands on. I hope everyone has had a great christmas, mine was good, kids where pleased with all their gifts. I have still to get my camera fixed but hopefully try and save up seeing as christmas is over, hence why my pics are rubbish. Well all the best for 2011 when it comes.x

These photos are not that great but still not got my camera fixed yet, to busy buying xmas gifts, As you can see we have snow, and i hate it, finally managed to get the car out our street thanks to a very nice farmer for digging us out with his tractor. The kids love the snow as does my dog, but i like it from indoors. I have had a few craft fairs this month have done okay but notice a big difference from last year, people are not spending as much. I have another this weekend but im working so i will be putting my lovely husband in charge. Hope everyone is nearly ready for xmas, i really can't believe it's the 1st of December tomorrow where has this year gone? the kids are wanting the tree up but making them wait another week, but in saying that there is 3 people in my street already have all their decorations up thats far to early. Im away now to wrap some of my pressies, thats another thing i don't like.

Here is a photo of my 10 year old daughter Robyn having a pose, she loves herself. She acts more like a 20 year than 10 and it will only get worse (ha). Well my crafts fairs where very quite last week, not much sales but lots of good feed back and met loads of lovely people. I have been making more pieces this week which still need to be finshed of but i need to order more sterling silver wire. I went to a craft fair today down in the boarders in Kelso, there was loads of great stalls. I have also decided to buy my family handmade pieces this year for xmas, I bought some pieces today so im very pleased with my purchases. There was a lovely lady there selling her resin jewellery i will defo be buying some pieces from her,(xmas gifts for me) her site is www.ellaceydesign.co.uk so i will be hinting to my hubby what i want. Here is some more of my etched copper earrings. These are all packed up for my craft fair tomorrow, Im hoping it will be busy and that people are ready to buy some chrimbo prezzies. I have another fair on Sunday then another on the 13th of November, that one is in St Andrews. I got my quote back for the repair on my camera, £170 can believe it, i really want to buy myself a tumbler, pepe disc cutter, and a rolling mill but never getting the chance to save as something always crops up. I started my christmas shopping this week, get a few bits and bobs but still managed to spend loads, im not sure what main prezzies the kids are after they change their minds every 5mins, they better make up their minds soon are they are getting nothing. I have just added a few more photos to my flickr page, as you can see i have been working on more copper pieces. The bracelet is one of my etched butterflys, i have oxidised this to inhance it more. I have used hand dyed silk ribbon along with silver plated chain a antique copper chain with a few ceramic washers thrown in. The necklace i have used copper and brass which i then cut out a flower shape on one then a randam design on another, i have also made a tree on the last one. I have 4 days holidays so i will be a my bench making more new pieces for my craft fairs this weekend.

I have finally made my first etched pieces. I have had the solutions for months but i got my finger out today and made a few bits and bobs. Im not happy with the photos as my good camera is getting fixed, hopefully it died on me last week and im not a happy bunny. I will be making a few copper pieces this week as i have 2 craft fairs next weekend so fingers crossed it will go well
I have 4 days holiday this week so there will be no housework done as i will be making loads of new pieces. Hope my hubby does'nt read this as he will say what new about the housework, he was very good today and did some ironing. I think im going to head of to my bed now, night night all.

I have been hammering some copper today, not really sure hat i had in mind i just let the hammer do the work. I used a blow torch to add patina to the finshed piece, hopefilly i will make a few pieces of jewellery this weekend out of copper, My copper pieces seem to go really well at the craft fairs. I had a good day on sunday selling my enameled beads, i have added a few beads and headpins to my etsy site, feel free to have a look. Here is a necklace that i have quickly put together today, I have used copper pipe which i have hand sawn all these components from, then i used 80 mesh thomson enamels, i have linked some together using jumprings then others using wire that i have enameled the tips. I have still been busy making more torch fired enameled beads for my fair 2 weeks today, fingers crossed that i sell some. I will also be taking all my beads taht are on my etsy site, so the site will be closed that day in case i sell any of the sets listed so if you fancy a set be quick as the might not be there for long. well i better get myself of to bed now it's been a busy weekend night all,x

I just seem to be chasing my tail all the time, with trying to work full and part time, plus trying to make beads for my bead fair on the 26th of this month and making more pieces of jewellery for my fair in St Andrews next weekend, but i did manage to make this piece, it measures about 3", i have made this using copper pipe, then enameled this using 80 mesh thomson enamels, i Have still to add ribbon, hopefully i will get this done sometime soon. I had a fab time in London at the weekend, never got to do much sight seeing, but i still had a great time at the drum festival with the young chap that i was looking after, next time i go hopefully i might take my hubby you never know. Here is a pair of earrings that i have just made using copper butterflies that i have torch fired, i have made loads more in loads of different colours. Well the sun was shinning today and i was indoors all day making more torch fired enamel beads and this ring. I have used a rough cut fire opal, I oxidised this to give the finished piece a more organic look. I also had a great day out with my lovely kids, hubby and my little dog yesterday up in Edinburgh, We sat in princess street gardens eating crepes, yum yum. It is really busy up in Edinburgh at the moment as the festival is on. I also had a look around all the craft stalls, i was very good only bought a few beads. Well i'm now of to bed hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Well it's the weekend again. I have been away all week with my work up at Aviemore with the youths, we had a great time, the weather could have been better but we still had a good time all the same. I got some new colours of enamels so i have been making more beads. I am not listing these on etsy as i have a bead fair in Edinburgh on the 26th september at the corn exchange so i'm making loads of these beads to sell, but if you fancy any of these colours i will be happy to make a set for you. Well thats my holidays over with back to work on Monday morning, I'm away all week with my work. We are away to Aviemore doing all different activities for the week, should be fun. I have been working on a few projects for the beads and beyond magazine so i just need to get them in the post. I have also finshed this sterling silver ring, the flower is quite large, i oxidised the finshed piece to give it these stunning blue tones. I also received more enamel in the post this morning so i will be making a few more beads. Well We are just back from our week away down to my aunts in Nailsea Nr Bristol in sommerset, we went to visit some lovely places, Bath is just gorgeous and yes i did buy beads at Bijoux Beads i normally order on line but it was just great to see all their stunning beads in the flesh, I did also look for a little shop in Bath whos blog i follow Purple sparkle crafts but we walked for miles and never did find it so i think i will have to go on-line to buy a few of their products. I went to visit Lesley Gleeson at Portishead flower show she was selling her gorgeous jewellery and it was so lovely to finally meet her in person. I have just lisited sll these gorgeous sets of torch fired enamel beads to my etsy shop, but keep posted i will be having a give away in the next few days of some sets of torch fired beads. so do please pop back for more details.

I have had a great day today, i turned 35 today, i got loads of cards, wine, flowers, chocs, and money. I also recieved loads of happy birthdays from all my friends on facebook, but tomorrow night i'm off out with my friends for cocktails, chinese and more booze. I made this bracelet and i just love the colour combo, i used up some odd beads that i have had for a while, I will hopefully add this to etsy tomorrow before i go out on the town with my friends. Well my craft fair at St Andrews went quite well yesterday, I sold quite a few pieces, and most of them where my copper pieces, which i'am pleased about, i also sold a few of my enamel bead sets to a lovely lady from the states. I felt sorry for the lovely lady next to me who never had any sales and the same for the man over from me sold nothing either, I think all the people where at the golf watching the open. I have just made this piece today just copper which i cut into stripes twisted them and finally enameled them. I have one more week at work them off for two weeks, the first week i'm of to Nailsea just near Bristol to stay with my aunt for a week hope the sun will shine as it's been raining here for the past week and a half. Well hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, i'm of to my bed now night all.

I have just made this bracelet along with a few more pieces and more torch fired enamel beads, trying to get some more pieces made for saturday for St Andrews craft fair. I also got some more busts delivery today along with my new cube display, i have left it in the box for my hubby to make up when he comes home on Friday night, and hopefully my new business cards will come tomorrow from Moo. i just love their cards great quality, will post new pics when they come. I have also been to my fitness class tonight Zumba i love it, it's sort of dance and aerobics put together. well i'm now of to my bed night all.

I am going to try and get myself organised tomorrow as i'm at St Andrews next saturday from 10am till 4pm doing my first craft fair of the year. I also need to sort pieces out to take to a shop which is going to stock some of my pieces. I have also just ordered some more business cards from Moo, i love their cards, great quality. I have also got another tutorial in this months Beads and Beyond magazine and i got a mention from a lovely lady called Rebecca Anderson, she also makes jewellery and was featured in that copy also, if you get the chance check out her blog on http://songbeads.blogspot.com she is a very talented young lady. More enameled beads, i'm loving amking these at the moment, but i need to buy more colours, i'm running low already. I did manage to burn my finger yesterday, but it's not to bad. Finally, i got some time to make a few pieces, in this photo, i have used a large lampwork focal made by clare scott, she is a wonderful lampwork artist, i have used a heavy gauage wire in sterling silver, then the final piece is on hand dyed silk ribbon. Hopefully i will have this piece for sale on my etsy site in the few days. I have had a great weekend, the weather has been beautiful, had a BBQ with my lovely family for my hubby's b-day, but now the weather is horrible, thunder and lighten, hopefully it will get better at the weekend again,

I bought these stunning lampwork beads from Clare Scott, she is one of my fav lampwork artists, I have made this necklace using just a few beads from the set, i have teamed it up with beautiful hand dyed silk from Diane Turton from sowZere. Here is my ring that i made also using dagenham fordite, this is my first ever ring which i have soldered so i'm quite pleased with, will hopefully add this to my etsy site tomorrow. Here is my lovely son Daniel, he was playing in a cup final tonight for his team (Preston Athletic under 13's) and i'm pleased to say that they won 2-1, so well done to all his team mates, and this sunday if they win their game they will have won the league also, so fingers crossed.

I bought a few pieces of Dagenham fordite, about a month ago and i have been waiting to finally make some pieces so here is the first thing that i made. This is also my first time setting any stones, carbs etc, so i think i did okay, I will hopefully get round to make a chain maybe tomorrow night, I also made a ring wich is also my first rings which i have soldered. Just getting my bag packed, i'm going to Aviemore this weekend which is up the north of Scotland. I'm going with 9 young adults with addition support needs and a few more youth workers, really looking forward to it, we will be doing white water rafting, walking, archery, and maybe a bit sking, we are ment to have snow this weekend so i have packed lots of warm clothes, and i will be leaving my lovely children and gorgeous hubby at home. Hopefully he will have the house all nice and tidy with no ironing for me coming home on monday fingers crossed, have a lovely weekend.x

What am i like, i really must blog more, i have been so busy working that i have not had much time to make much jewellery. But i have been playing about with polymer clay, i have been making keyrings and they are selling really well, but i'm now making a few bead so i will have to take some photos soon. I finally got my hair cut it has only taken me since september so i went for the chop. I ahve been busy walking as well, my friends and i are doing a 12 mile walk for St coloumbus hospice in june, i also joined the gym today so i think i'm doing okay. hope everyone has had a great weekend, the sun has been shining here long my it continue.

Here is one of the beads that i bought at the Perth bead fair on sunday. this is made by a lovely lampwork artist called Min Fidler. I just love the colours that in this, and i'm not a pink or red person, but i just love this, i had hand dyed silk ribbon that i bought from diane turton and these are just perfect together, I did buy some other lampwork beads from moogin (mindy macgregor) i will be hopefully getting round to be doing something with them soon, i also bought quite a few ceramic beads in bright colours, would loved to have bought loads more but i was being good. i will be putting this up for sale on my etsy site in the next few days.

I know i said i would blog more so i thought i better get my finger out, Seeing as the weather is cold and horrible outside, i thought i would make some jewellery in summery colours, and here is the first piece. I have used chrysotine A + grade semi precious beads with aquamarines, and the lampwork bead in the centre is made by Clare Scott.
I also bought a pasta maker today, not to make pasta with but to roll out my new creations in fimo, i have an order of 120 keyrings, i will post photos as and when they are made.
I also treated myself to a new phone, i have the new blackberry storm 2 which looks fab. and i will use this to blog more (ha),
so glad it's nearly the weekend, we are going out with the kids on saturday for Robyns 10th birthday, off to the cinema to watch Avatar then for a chinese, can't wait.

I made this necklace back in December and i sent in the tutoral to the beads and beyond magazine, you can catch this in this months issue which is out next thursday 11th Febuary, on page 22, I have made the copper flower in the centre using copper pipe, the beads are from bijoux beads, one of my favourite online shops, and the gorgeous ribbon is from Diane Turton from sowZeredesigns, I'am really pleased with the comment from the Editor of the magazine (Michelle Powell) quote "I gauge my love for our projects, by how soon i grab my tools and want to give that particular technique or design a try, This time Eve Smith has inspired me to get some metal and saw away. I hope she gives this a try and lots more as well.

Why do the weekends go that fast? well i actually managed to make a few pieces off jewellery which are now on sale in my etsy shop, hope you like. I got my order off greek ceramic washers from beadsite, so pleased with them they are just gorgeous, i'm now needed to place an order for silver wire, better get ordered tomorrow. Was standing in the cold and rain this morning watching my lovely son playing football, thankfully they won but! it did go into extra time, so they eventually won 4-2 well done Daniel. I have been playing with copper pipe again today, I have made this piece in the photo, i really need to get protectors for my finger tips, with all the sanding i will have to finger prints left.(ha) I have never left the house today as it's sooo cold outside, i have the heating on nearly 24/7 at the moment, really wish this snow would go away but! it is saying we are to get more on Monday and Tuesday. I have been adding some of my pieces to Etsy as well, so fingers crossed, still to get some fairs booked for this year so i better get moving. My diet is so so, i have done a few sit up well 100 today that is okay i suppose, but i did cheat and i have had 2 glasses of wine, start on Monday i promise. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have another necklace featured in Febuarys issue of beads and beyond magazine, hope you like it, i have added a photo of it, but it looks much better in the magazine than my hopeless photo. Hope everyone is not too fed up with all this snow that we are having? well i just had the minus tempetures that we are having, mind you some places in scotland are in the -20's we are not as bad as this just -7 or so but still cold. The kids where ment to go back to school on Wednesday but they went back today, typical as they are only half days on a friday so they where there for 3 hours. The snow seems to be here one minute then gone the next but it's back again, i have posted a photo of my back garden this is what snow feel just last night. I have also started my diet today, but the minute you say diet is the minute you want to eat, then count the hours to when you can eat again (ha). I also placed an order on amazon today for a few jewellery books, can't wait to get them, My hubby is back to work tomorrow, but i don't go back till wednesday, the same day as the kids start back school.

well for 2010 i hope to blog more, set up a new esty shop as i never did anything on the last one, plus i hated the name, so will start it tomorrow, I shut my website just at the end of last year, it was'nt doing that great so thats why i want to list items on etsy. Will have to get some craft fairs booked, i had a great year with them last year so hopefully all goes well this year. Another thing is i want to try my hand at resin, more silversmithing work, enameling, so i will need to buy some books on these topics. The other thing that starts on monday is my diet yes i know what us ladies are like just after chrimbo we want to be thinner, so the diet books will be dusted of once again with my exercise machine. My freind and i are going to do a 12 mile walk for st columbus hospice in june, so we are going to get into training for that, I hope 2010 is a good year for everyone.

My my it has been ages, well i hope everyone is all organised for christmas, the kids are high as kites gonna try and get them to bed very soon. I'm now of work for 2 weeks, i have closed my website and i'm now gonna put my jewellery on etsy. I have been very busy this month with craft fairs and commissions for cutomers so i'm very pleased with all that, i now just need to make pieces to stock up again, I have also been writting up some tutorials for the beads and beyond magazine, so watch this space. The kids are also been having loads of fun out in the snow, i hate the stuff myself, give me sunshine any day. Merry christmas and a happy new year to you all have a good one,

Back from my hols

Well i had a fantastic time in Florida, we were in the middle of a heatwave as it is normally in the 70's / mid 80's but we were in 95, which was great. The queues for the rides at the parks where great, only waited 15 mins at the most and others we just walked on. I really loved sea world, we all feed the dolphines (i want one). But back to normal and not long till xmas so i really must get my finger out as it seems like ever since i made any jewellery, so i have been ordering some bits and bobs that i really needed so hopefully by the weekend i will have made some pieces, fingers crosssed. Hope everyone is getting ready for xmas as it's only 9 weeks on friday. (nightmare)

Yahoo, i finally got a chance to sit down and play about with some beads today, thats after i had watched daniel play ftbl and did some ironing. This gorgeous lampwork beads is by the lovely clare scott, the colours are just stunning, i have used contrasting freshwater pearls, with karen hill silver drum beads and sterling silver spiral twists, I have a silk ribbon necklace to match this bracelet. I really need to order lots of sterling silver wire and findings, but i'm being good as it's less than 3 weks till we go to Florida, mind you i looked at the weather report yesterday and they were having storms, hope it gets better for us going, hope you all had a lovely weekend

Well i just never seem to have any spare time at the moment, i'm now working full time plus part time, doing craft fairs, putting on exhibtions, plus trying to get house work done. St Andrews craft fair

It was an early start yestarday morning, up at 6:30am, i had to drive to St Andrews, which is about 1hour 45mins from home, this is the first time that i have done a craft fair here. To start with it was great my table was just as you came in the door so i had a few sales, then it seemed to go really quiet, but at about 3:30 it picked up again, i had a rush on, so i sold quite a few pieces at the end which i was pleased about. The only thing that i have found with the organisers is that alot of people does not know that the fairs are on, so i feel that they are not promoting them enough, as does the other crafters. Finally got home them had chinese for tea with a couple of glasses of rose wine. My next fair is not till novemeber, but i have a few bits and pieces to keep me going till then, plus my 2 weeks in Florida, 3 1/2 weeks to go yahoo.

Here is another ring that i have made, for this one i have hammered the ends of the wire out the coiled them in towards each other the slightly twisted them over each other, i have oxidised the finished piece then it was polished up. Fed up with all the rain we have had today, so going to cosy up on the settee and watch tv. hope everyone has a great weekend.

I have decided to try and make rings, here is my first go, i'm quite pleased with this attempt, i have used a heavy guage sterling silver wire, which i balled the ends then hammered into shape then twisted the front, I then filed away any ruff edges, then the finished piece was oxidised to darken the silver to give it an aged feel. I really want to try more designs but! i want to buy some silver sheet but saving for my holidays which are now only 7 weeks away, so trying to be good, and not buy anymore, beads,. tools, silver, etc.

I made this necklace yesterday, it has the same style as my pixie teal necklace, but i decided to make this one with silver findings and chain rather than copper, as i seem to find myself making everything in copper at the mo. I was meant to be doing a craft fair this weekend but it has been canceled due to lack of bookings, so i'm a bit fed up about that, must be that people are still on holiday. I have been getting the kids school clothes ready as it's only another 2 weeks till they go back, but then we have Florida to look forward to in October, i have sill to lose some weight before we go, i always leave things till the last minute.

Well i had'nt relised that it has been ages since i have done anything on my blog, infact i have not made any jewellery for more than a week now, i need some inspiration. I have been networking though, i have joined a group called elli-b which stands for east lothian ladies in business. I'am going to be doing a wedding fair soon, i also have my jewellery in two shops which are called Art matters in Musselburgh which is run by Fiona Robb who is a stunning artist. And the other one is Bass rock framing and gift shop which is in Dunbar and is run by Alisling Taylor . so quite pleased with this hope all goes well. Oh and i was 34 yesterday.

I have been playing with some wire today, i have a idea what i'm going to do with this flower, but will have to get the rest of the materials first. Was a mad rush yesterday, Robyn was dancing last night in her 1st apperance of her show, Daniel had to be at a football match at the same time, plus they were both finishing at the same time, managed to get one of the other mums to bring Robyn home. Well Daniel's team won 7-5 he was captian so was really pleased to lift the trophy, his coach bought a bottle of champange and then sprayed it all over them when they lifted the trophy, so they were all happy, and Robyn had a great time doing her show, we are all going on thursday night to see her, she loves being on stage, she does not take that from me or my hubby. The weeks just seem to go soo fast just now, I have had a busy weekend, Daniel had a football tournament on saturday, was there from 9am till 3pm, the weather was horrible, raining one minute sunning the next, well anyway his team came second so it was okay, today i was of work ,the kids had another school in service day so we went to Dunbar splash pool, with wave machines and the flumes, so a good day was had by all, I was working tonight with the youths, we had a guy in playing the drums, so we had fun playing them, lots of noise, I look after young adults with disablities, from the age of 15-25, it is a great job, Tomorrow Daniel has another football match and Robyn is in a dance show, we are all going to see her dance on thursday night looking forward to that, hope everyone has had a fab weekend.

This is a photo of the beach just down the road from where i live, this is Longniddry beach, john, robyn honey(the dog) and myself, went down on friday afternoon, the weather has been gorgeous here, I think it has been like this every where, make the most of it while we can, any way Robyn and Honey had a great time running in and out of the water. Flew down to Sothhampton today to days silversmithing with Jo from Daisychaindesign, I would like to thank Jo as i had a fab day, I really enjoyed it, would love to have stayed for longer, i made this bracelet and pendant, i designed these myself, I used copper for both with sterling silver added into the two pieces. I cut the discs, which where then hammered then doomed, for the chain i used sterling silver which i coiled, then it was cut then soldered, then hammered to give a slight textured look. The pendant i made this little squiggle from sterling silver which was then soldered onto the pendant. Thanks Jo for a fantastic day, you are a excellent teacher,

I started to make these bracelets last year, they always sell really well, for this one i have used purple wire, along with A grade freshwater pearls and swarovski crystals, these pearls have a few different colour tones in them, they have greens/ blues and purples, very nice. will be adding this to the website soon,

I have made this for my friend jackie, she loves pink. It is for sunday as her daughter is having her communion, this is the one that i made the tiara for, hope the weather will be fine as we are having a bar-b-que after wards.

I took my mum out to the shops today, and robyn, then we had lunch, it was lovely, left john and daniel at home playing with their playstations, (boys and their toys) eh, bought a new jumper, well my mum bought me it (thanks mum), Was wanting to get out into the garden today but the weather is so dull and windy, so ironing it is. Hope everyone has a fab weekend, and all you lucky people going to fairs, mind and sell loads and not to spend to much, i really need to keep that in mind for myself, take care all, love evex

I have been tagged by Lesley at coburgh crafts i can i think of 8 things

8 things Iam looking forward to...

1) We are going to Florida in October, first time so we can't wait,
2) My husband and I have a whole week of work next week so that should be nice.
3) Flying down to jo's in Southhampton next thursday to do a day of silversmithing really looking forward to that.
4) It's my darling hubby's birthday tomorrow he is 37. he's older than me Ha
5) My daughters dance show which is in a few weeks, i love it, she makes me soo proud.
6) Going to stobo castle in peebles (borders) health spa, for a luxury spa day, was a gift from my hubby, he is good to me, this will be my 3rd time, it is heaven.
7) My friday night chinese and a bottle of rose wine, Ha
8) To See my bracelet that i made feature in a new book called funky beads.

8 things i did yesterday..
1) Got the kids up for school, then went to work
2) got home from work then took the dog out for a walk
3) caught up on some jewellery making as i had not done any for a few days
4) did a little house work not on a big fan on that, my hubby is not to bad,
5) went up to my mums, my mum is in a wheelchair so i help with looking after her, had a chat with her for a while .
6) Looked at the computer (flickr) what am i like !
7) took some photos to add to my flickr site
8) had a shower then went to bed

8 things i wish i could do...

1) I used to do gymnastics when i was young, but iam not that flexiable now so i still wish i could do a back flip
2) I would love to make my own beads, (lampwork) as these are my fav.
3) I would love to be a kid again just for a day, It was magic when i was kid
4) To get married again (to my hubby) it was one of the best days of my life but it went so fast.
5) To lose weight and actually keep it of (ha)
6) Win the lottery that would be fab
7) I have always wanted to sky dive so one day i really hope to do that.
8) spell better !!!! because my husband has to proof read all my blogs !!!!

I finally managed to add a few things to the website last night, but i really want to revamp the whole lot, but will have to get hubby to that as i'am hopeless. We are both of next week so might get some time then, can't wait till next thursday as i'm of to southhampton to jo's @ dasiychain designs, doing a days silversmithing with her, really excited about that. I really wanted to up date my website today, but i have never had any time yet, my son Daniel had football first thing, then Robyn had to get photos taken for her ballet, then big and i mean big pile of ironing to do, then tea, so my website will have to wait another day. I really have been neglecting it for ages, so i must find time.
