Busy bee this week

Well I have been quite busy this week , I have made this denim Lapis pendant , which has now been listed in my Etsy shop, It measures 1.5", the lapis lazuli is 12mm round, I have hand pierced the little butterfly, then I oxidised the bottom to highlight the design.
Here is another spinner ring, band width 1cm with 2 bands in the centre, This is a commission piece.
Here is another ring I made this week, another lapis lazuli, you think I like blue at the moment, This is still to be listed on Etsy. The pendant below is a design which I have been making for a while, I made a ring a while back, so I decided to make this pendant and keep it polished, as I normally oxidised pieces where I use 24kt gold leaf.
I also have some of my jewellery in a new store which opened in October, It is called Ice Store which is situated in St James Centre Edinburgh, so fingers crossed people are buying for mothers day which is in just two weeks, I have a few other commission pieces to keep me busy over the weekend,

On a sadder note I attended one of my oldest friends dads funeral yesterday, he was only 60 and had been ill for a few years, it's always sad when you have to say goodbye. well I wish you all a good weekend.

This is what I have been doing today, making bezel settings, #jewellery #handmade #sterlingsilverjewellery

I have been quite quiet the past few weeks, but I did manage to get up to my workshop the other day, as Im still waiting on a order of silver sheet to come along with other silver, I decided to make all these bezel setting for all these lovely glass cabochons and stones. As you will agree these stones look lush. I love the glass cabochons, especially the blue bubble cabs, These have been made by Trudi Doherty from Glittering Prize, Not sure what i'm making all these pieces into, maybe a lovely big pendant for this poppy cab, earrings and a few rings., I have also ordered a bonny doon hammer from Rio Grande so I keep looking for the post man to bring this, I have a list as long as my arm of all the amazing tools that I want from Rio Grande, I would love if we had somewhere in the UK to stock all the tools that America have, Keep popping back to see what I have been up to, Plus if you want please feel free to follow me on Facebook, just hit the Like button at the side of my blog.

Back again

Hope everyone had a great christmas and hope 2013 is a good year for you all. I did'nt realise that it has been so long since my last post, so here is a few pictures of some of my new pieces, all of which are listed in my Etsy shop, www.silvermeadows.etsy.com. The flower pendant above has been hand pierced from sterling silver sheet, This measures just over 1" and the chain length is 16".
These two rings both have twisted bands, the ring above has a chinese turquoise and the blue stone ring is a Lapis Lazuli.
Here is another style of my butterfly pendant. I have made a few different designs of this, which have all sold. I love to oxidise these as it really highlights the design on the silver.
These little heart earrings with Chinese turquoise are so cute, perfect for a loved one for valentines day (not long now). I have just been looking through my Rio Grande catalogue that I got in the post the other day, I'm like a kid writing everything I want, my wish list is way too long. But i was good I only ordered a few things, but one thing I did order was a new hammer it is a bonny doon one, cant wait till it's here (sad or what).
Mind I also have a face book page if you want to like my page you can either look up silvermeadows, or hit the link at the side of my page, thanks again. I will try and not leave it nearly 2 months till my next post.

Weekend work

Well that's my first week off  my holidays over with, I have been up at the workshop trying to get some more pieces ready for the fair, that i am doing in Edinburgh west end for the festival, I will be there from 16-19 August. I have been rushing about ordering a new banner, boxes etc, just keep my fingers crossed that i make some sales. i have been making a few pieces with butterflies as you can see from the pics that i have posted.
I made this spinner ring today, still needs to be polsihed up more, i quite like making these rings. I do really need to be ordering more silver, I have a wish list of tools that i still want, but as they say Rome was'nt built in a day.
The weather has been quite good this last week, even managed to get to the beach twice, even if it was just taking the dog to run about in the sea.
Kids go back to school on Thursday, it has been a fast 6 1/2 weeks holidays for them, I have all their new clothes bought, Will be a nightmare to get them to go to bed before 3am or 4am.

I made these drop earrings using these gorgeous lampwork beads from Isabelle Anderson from flame and glass, I have quite a fair stash of beads that I bought a while back and not been using much of late, so i thought i would try and introduce some beads back into my designs.

More work this weekend

Well i'm off work for two whole weeks, (yahoo) so yesterday I went up to Edinburgh seeing it was a lovely sunning day for a change. The festival has statred, so we watched some street acts then sat in princess street gardens for a while, which was nice and relaxing after having walked for about 4 hours, I even had a nice cold lager. Today I was at my work shop for a while and I made this ring, the width of this band is 1cm, I have added this gorgeous flower ribbon.

I also made this gorgeous ring, The lampwork cabochon was made by Glittering Prize, by Trudi Doherty, I also made the matching earrings which are in the picture below.

I have made a few pieces using this design, I have made earrings to match the pendant above all set with 4mm blue topaz

These earrings are made using my rolling mill to emboss this pattern onto the silver. I have listed a few pieces to my etsy shop tonight so please feel free to have a look. I am now going to enjoy a nice chilled glass of rose wine and finish off reading my book, before i head of to bed, so i wish you all a good night. x

Pieces that i have been working on tonight.

I have made quite a few pieces this week, but it's always nearly after 9pm when i head home so it's to dark to take any pics, That is my job over the weekend. i got these lovely lampwork cabs yesterday in the post from Trudi Doherty from Glittering prize. She had made beads like this and i loved the colours in them, so i asked her nicely if she could make them again but into cabs, and heres what i got, love them, The pendant is made from sterling silver wire with a 4mm blue topaz set into tube. i have earrings in the same style, I'm trying to build up stock for the fair that i'm doing in two weeks today. Well i wish you all a goodnight, sweet dreams.
